Coming up trumps in the January sales

Article Abstract:

TotalCAD is available from IMSI for 19.99 pounds sterling including VAT. It is easy to use, it comes with a 2D drawing package and there are symbol libraries. One drawback is that there is no manual included in the package and it uses 80Mb of disk space. AutoCAD LT 97 has been released and this is completely compatible with AutoCAD Release 13 and 14, which other packages are not. AutoCAD LT 97 costs 595 pounds, while existing users can upgrade their current packages for an additional 199 pounds.

Highest pressures pumped reliably: a pressure intensifier for use on the sea bed sets new benchmarks in very high pressure hydraulic system performance and reliability

Article Abstract:

A pressure intensifier has been developed that could remain usable on the sea bed for 20 years or more, and could be used as an alternative way of operating subsea safety valves. It can generate 1,000 bar pressure from a 207 bar supply, using low pressure hydraulic fluid, which acts on a large piston, in turn pushing a second piston.
