Don't cut costs, manage them

Article Abstract:

Business managers and top executives are shifting their attention from cost reduction to cost management. Cost management is a strategy used to perpetually eliminate the causes of low value-added costs. Effective cost management can be achieved by following its seven principles namely, recognizing the true costs of an organization, constantly ameliorating costs, providing employees with the tools to carry out cost management, engaging all concerned employees in decision-making, lessening complexity in business, modifying the performance systems to transform employees' attitude and employing the organization's technique in managing costs.

Be prepared with an affinity diagram

Article Abstract:

Creating an affinity diagram facilitates scouts in first-aid training because it makes them relate the materials used for treatment with the injuries by identifying common threads. The diagram serves as a guide to using the necessary medical implement should an accident happen. In addition, the sharing of ideas among the scouts that is integral to the activity fosters the camaraderie that is in keeping with Scout principles.
