Engineers graduate from new Afghan military academy: "East Point" technologists to rebuild Afghanistan's infrastructure

Article Abstract:

The National Military Academy of Afghanistan will graduate its first class of engineers who have degrees in one of seven majors that include civil, mechanical, and information systems engineering. The academy is modeled after West Point and the graduates are obligated to serve 10 years on active duty.

Oslo Metro takes greener track: new trains share power captured by regenerative braking

Article Abstract:

Oslo is replacing 63 of their T-bane Metro's trains with lighter and more energy efficient trains that use regenerative braking systems. The regenerative braking system of the train allows it to recover up to 44 percent of its power.
