European telecoms dial up Silicon Valley for next-generation data communications technologies

Article Abstract:

Deutsche Telekom AG and France Telecom SA attempt to strengthen their position in the global telecommunications market with the formation of ThinkOne Inc in Brisbane, CA. Launched primarily to boost both companies' marketing competence against US competitors, ThinkOne would center on providing Internet, multimedia, network computing and wireless data services. By focusing on technology assessment, development and integration, company officials are optimistic they will be able to acquire an expansive marketing share in Silicon Valley.
