Liquid injection for more profitable molding

Article Abstract:

Injection molding of liquid silicone rubber eliminates the preforming, milling, and blending needed for molding conventional silicone rubber. LSR components can also be mixed, injected, and ejected using automatic equipment which speeds cycle times. Because of faster curing times and the economy of processing, the high cost of the liquid rubber is more than offset.

Forming technique cuts moulding costs

Article Abstract:

A cost-effective plastic moulding technique has been developed which uses vacuum forming technology. Each formed plastic part is finished on a CNC milling machine. Aluminium moulds are produced at relatively low cost. They are filled with plastic using a vacuum and positive pressure. A working prototype can be produced at an estimated cost of 4,000 pounds sterling.
