Unraveling the French paradox: how flavonoids in grape seeds can protect your blood vessels

Article Abstract:

Research is analyzed on the effects of grape-seed flavonoids on human blood vessels, a topic launched with the discovery that although French cuisine is high in fat, the French themselves have low incidence of heart disease. The flavonoids, present in wine, produce endothelium-dependent relaxation, which consists of nitric oxide synthase and enzyme activity in the aortic rings.

Denne Developments will promote a Virual Reality simulator and a servo actuator at Manufacturing Week in London, England. The simulator will allow visitors to pretend they are flying on a magic carpet, with hybrid pneumatic/servo actuations providing the sensations of movement. The new Mark III Penram actuator has thrust of up to 20 kgf.
