Communicating through the media in a crisis

Article Abstract:

Companies can implement certain steps that will mitigate public anger when a crisis occurs. These steps were used by British Petroleum during the oil spill off the coast of California and Johnson and Johnson during the Tylenol tampering incident. The first step is to offer an apology to the public while the admission of wrongdoing is necessary even if it has legal implications. Companies should be prepared to spend money for correcting mistakes however costly since preserving their good standing in the public's eye is more important. Measures should also be undertaken to ensure that the same mistakes should not happen again.

EMF and PC monitors: shield your assets

Article Abstract:

Computer equipment failure can be prevented if the necessary steps to protect the equipment from harmful electromagnetic fields are taken. Electromagnetic fields, which are generated from electrical power sources, are considered harmful as they transmit electromagnetic radiation. Researchers have been trying to predict the effects of electromagnetic fields on computers and those using the equipment by using scientific data, but have experienced difficulties as the characteristics of electromagnetic fields vary with frequency.
