Subcontract coordination in construction

Article Abstract:

A study investigated the key tasks of special subcontract coordinators within the Swedish construction trades. The analysis aimed to find out how these specialists were working, where in the organization should they be placed and what they contribute to the construction process. Special attention was focused on building-service contractors. Findings indicate that subcontract coordinators with a clearly defined role within the organization can make for the delivery of better buildings within shorter time frames.

Billions slated for N.J. school construction

Article Abstract:

The New Jersey Supreme Court has ruled that the state must allot a minimum of $5 billion for school design and construction, a development that is expected to be translated into a building boom for the sector. The development is the result of the court's ruling in a 1997 case that required the state to ensure the equalization of the quality of education in all New Jersey districts. The move is aimed at renovating and upgrading schools in the state's less affluent neighborhoods.
