Getting a closer look at production defects

Article Abstract:

Shelton Vision systems, a United Kingdom based company, has developed an intelligent vision system that detects structural surface and color defects to whatever level the user requires. The vision system combines high defect detection sensitivity over a potentially vast range of product styles, whilst at the same time 'classifying out' non-defect features.

Moving to rapid series production

Article Abstract:

A patented hybrid technique that uses rapid tooling and rapid prototyping technologies is developed that can handle series production of complex, plastic components at low cost. Protoform's patented 'Space Puzzle Molding' (SPM) process is now being used as a fast and easy short-cut to producing most polymer products, including aluminum mould tools.
