Combination therapy tackles wastewater toxins

Article Abstract:

The removal of toxic and nonbiodegradable pollutants in wastewater can be managed with a combination of biological and chemical processes. A fusion of the two processes allows water treatment that is impossible under other conditions. The combination therapy has proven to be commercially viable for anaerobic and aerobic industrial wastewater treatment plants, including problems with cyanide, heavy metals and lignin.

O2-based options for purifying wastewater

Article Abstract:

A combination of oxydation and enviromentally friendly reagents is considered a primary choice for wastewater treatment. The use of gases for purifying industrial wastewater has been shown to improve biological and mechanical treatment processes. The method is also a safer and more effective treatment approach compared to the application of traditional chemicals.
