High-shear membrane process & wastewater

Article Abstract:

Membrane filtration is increasingly being considered for various applications in liquid-solid separation, which is presently the domain of conventional mechanical processes. With reportedly 124 US patents in implementation, including those for purifying photofinishing effluent and isolating double-stranded nucleic acids, membrane filtration is increasingly becoming prevalent in various fields, ranging from electronics and biotechnology, to food and paper processing. The most popular application for membrane filtration encompass the most difficult tasks, including desalination, and possibly, process and wastewater treatment.

Don't risk product contamination

Article Abstract:

Enviropax of Salt Lake City, UT, has turned to Rexnord Corp. for gearmotors to run its mixers used in wastewater treatment plants. Rexnord's S3 Gearmotors satisfy Enviropax's three requirements: compact size; powerful enough to provide maximum operating efficiency; and leakproof operation even when mounted in the vertical position. Moreover, S3 Gearmotors' advanced design results in 35% more torque than competitive units. The S3 also meets Class 12 Standards of the American Gear Manufacturers Association.

Keep your rotating machines healthy

Article Abstract:

The proactive management of rotating machines results in optimized machine performance and better maintenance decisions. This would involve the installation of an effective machinery management system that includes automatic diagnostics. The system should include proper transduces for monitoring and protection, and a decision support system that delivers information to operators, maintenance personnel and plant management.
