ISO 9001 takes on a new role -crime fighter

Article Abstract:

The Records and Identification Bureau (RIB) of Phoenix Police Department (PPD) that maintained and disseminated a variety of important records for the PPD became the first law enforcement organization in the United States to achieve ISO 9001 registration. The process of mapping methodology was done through Business Enterprise Mapping in Scottsadale that helped them to focus on identifying and resolving problems that affected efficiency, credibility and safety.

Will 1998 be the year of Superfund reform?

Article Abstract:

Three Superfund reform bills were introduced in the House of Representatives in late 1997. The proposed legislation require the EPA to use results-oriented methods for achieving more efficient, cost-effective and timely environmental cleanups. For instance, the bill authored by Rep Sherwood Boehlert focuses on Superfund remedy-selection process, the role of states in cleanups, natural resource damages, voluntary cleanups, brownfields and Superfund taxes.
