If you follow the guides then IT offers opportunities

Article Abstract:

Cabling for information technology should allow flexibility and future expension. Flexibility encompasses the ability to change the location of equipment and to add new services. Two types of cabling are used, twisted pair, which can be installed to handle five distinct levels of service, and optical fibres which are suitable for all environments and give excellent data security. Choice of cable type depends on assessment of performance and security requirements. Care must be taken when installing cables and the relevant guidelines followed.

Six sense

Article Abstract:

The installation rules for Category 6 cabling are the same as those for Category 5 for untwisting of the cable pairs, with a maximum of 13 mm from the point of contact. The two conductors should run opposite ways from the point of untwist. Category 6 cables have a central spacing member designed to cut NEXT and ELFEXT. This means that the cable diameter is larger and that the room available for cable pairs to move is also increased.

Let's get physical

Article Abstract:

The use of cable management software when installing a physical network can dramatically reduce the time required to locate the end user of each cable connection. Software costs about $80,000 to install and run.
