Leadership and human motivation in the workplace

Article Abstract:

The top-down management style traditionally adopted by US companies has been found to be opposed to the human psychological and spiritual nature. This antiquated management style does not motivate people. Executive management must assume the role of counselors and lead the company toward maturity by guiding employees toward a mastery orientation instead of a performance orientation. Leadership and continuous quality improvement make employees respond productively.
