Lens manufacture polishes up its act

Article Abstract:

An automated polishing system has been developed using a combination of polishing tools, a three axis x-y-z table and turntable, to improve the manufacture of industrial and scientific lenses. Aspheric lens manufacture is costly, but with the automated system, the lenses could become more affordable.
