New mixer tackles rough fluids

Article Abstract:

Guy Metcalfe and Murray Rudman, researchers at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization in Melbourne, Australia, have developed the Rotated Arc Mixer (RAM) that has proven to be effective in mixing fluids that previously could not be mixed efficiently. Metcalfe said the RAM's effectiveness is due to its ability to produce viscous shear forces and reorient flow, which results in chaotic mixing of highly viscous fluids in either batch or continuous modes.

Mixer achieves rapid powder wetting

Article Abstract:

Silverson Machines has developed V Range Mixers specifically for use in applications where a powerful vortex is required to rapidly wet-out and disperse large volumes of powders into liquids. The mixer is particularly suitable for rapid dispersion of large volumes of powder or absorption of materials that are difficult to wet-out and that have a tendency to float or raft. It can also be utilized for high viscosity mixes where good surface movement is required.

Mixer uses new technology to deliver high performance

Article Abstract:

Maelstrom APT has introduced the Integrimix C range of continuous mixers, which provides high stress mixing performance at flow rates between 0.25 and 100 mt/h. The continuous mixers, which are based on the patented integral pump mixing principle, can be utilized for applications such as dispersion, emulsification and reactive mixing across a wide variety of process industries.
