Performance improves despite market

Article Abstract:

Recovery of the integrated circuit (IC) market failed to occur in 1986, but application-specific IC and digital signal processor segments grew. Increased perception of the problems involved in testing PCs became evident, as did a revival of interest in analog functions. The emergence of more compact and powerful ICs is forcing the issue of lowering the standard supply voltage from five to three volts.

Why so few women, still?

Article Abstract:

The various reasons put forth by experts on the issue of why aren't more women in the United States pursuing engineering education and careers, and what can experts do about it, are presented. It was observed that in United States women constitute about13 percent of the engineering workforce and earn about 20 percent of undergraduate engineering degrees.

Despite Its Fears Public Still Loves Technology

Article Abstract:

The American public and its leaders are optimistic about the future of technology. They believe technology has improved their lives, and they want to see more R & D. This survey randomly selected adults across the United States in seeking opinions. People are also afraid of technology, however.
