Powerful arguments

Article Abstract:

Local authorities in England and Wales will have to address a number of sensitive issues as they deal with the planning applications for renewable energy proposals sparked off by the fourth round of the Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation (NFFO-4). They may have to call in outside technical assistance to deal with these applications, and will have to carefully consider the problems, such as noise or emissions, which can be connected with renewable energy schemes. The government has now issued detailed advice on areas including landfill gas, hydro power, active solar systems and energy from waste combustion.
