Quality data entry made easy with Windows Dialog boxes

Article Abstract:

Many statistical process control (SPC) Windows programs are not easy for a novice to use, do not permit only valid new data to be entered and do not permit the entry of different types of data. SPC requires good data entry systems which allow an operator to enter data into one record at one pass. SPC programmes currently offer only conventional variables and attributes capabilities for the personal computer. Dialog boxes are important in the Windows graphical user interface and satisfy the criteria for SPC programmers.

Quality improvement using Windows spreadsheets

Article Abstract:

Spreadsheet software for microcomputers is invaluable for quality improvement and analysis. Microsoft Excel in particular is outstanding for its range of options, ease of use, and ready links to Microsoft Word. Lotus 1-2-3, Borland Quattro-Pro, and Goldspread Statistical are also worth consideration, especially with software add-ins to fill their gaps. Tables give extensive comparison data on the packages' features.
