Raman spectroscopy system handles CPI application

Article Abstract:

Roper Scientific has unveiled a Raman spectroscopy system that has a spectrograph, high-performance CCD camera, fiber-optic probe and the SpectraSense data-manipulation software. The system is designed for kinetic studies of chemical reactions and high-speed monitoring of production processes. It can be configured for specific applications by choosing from different focal-length spectrographs and probes. The CCD detector is very sensitive and can be used even in low-light situations.

Moisture analyzer

Article Abstract:

CEM Corp has introduced a moisture analyzer called SMART Therma-Dri System. The analyzer can make samples, which could not be dried with microwave energy alone, dry through the use of a combination of microwave and thermal contract heating. The analyzer is applicable for low-moisture products having free and bound water, such as spray-dried dairy products, cereals and snack foods. The analyzer can also be used by the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
