Small businesses thinking big

Article Abstract:

Small business companies can implement quality improvement and total quality management programs as effectively as large companies. Small companies have the advantages of easy communications among personnel and fast implementation of plans that can enhance employees' motivation. The companies should have a well-structured implementation plan, and realistic expectations about the company's resources and success to ensure efficient quality management. The misperceptions of small companies regarding quality management, and successful quality improvement programs of three companies are discussed.
