Article Abstract:

The move towards sustainable development is set to lead to the adoption of environmental management systems by many companies and organisations in the second half of the 1990s. Several environmental management system standards are being introduced, including the UK's BS7750 and the European Union's Eco Management and Audit Scheme. An international environmental standard, ISO14001, is also due in 1996. Organisations considering sustainable development policies are likely to include aspects such as environmental auditing and environmental impact.

Making multirater feedback systems work

Article Abstract:

Multirater feedback methods have emerged as the prime method of performance assessment and is projected to be the wave of the future. In fact, several publications have focused their attention on this method which is based on the notion that feedback results in an enhanced level of managerial self-awareness that has a corresponding impact on performance and effectiveness. This fundamental assumption is supported by several theories including that of Daniel Goleman, Charles Garfield, Stephen Covey and Peter Senge.
