Article Abstract:

Production engineers should recognize specific production floor characteristics to allow them to effectively perform environmental stress screening procedures. Major equipment items necessary for performing the stress screening procedure include a shaker system for generating random vibration at a specific spectrum, and a rapidly ramping thermal chamber that provides sufficient airflow over printed wiring boards, allowing temperature changes of 30 degrees Centigrade to occur every minute.

Interfacing devices for SPC

Article Abstract:

The constant need for new technologies is an inevitable part of any business. A prime example of these technologies is the advancement in interfacing devices and gages to computers which facilitate automated information gathering. These devices also foster real-time statistical process control (SPC) as well as savings in time and resources. Calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments can be interfaced with computers using SPC.
