Substrates key to harder coatings

Article Abstract:

Cambridge-based coatings specialist Tecvac, has gained NADCAP approval for its physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating services, and is the first company in Europe to gain this approval for PVD coatings. PVD allows for very thin, high integrity, high adhesion coatings of hard or lubricious materials to be applied to metal surfaces.

A manufacturer of electronic control cabinets has made an innovative use of fasteners to slash design times and costs. Tyco Electronics/Comacc site in Essex has a continual product development process that includes the use of fasteners to implement design changes to enable equipment to be made faster and easier at lower cost.

Wet running pump sets new standards

Article Abstract:

Stratos pump is a wet-running design manufactured by Wilow Salmson by using a permanent magnet motor and is more efficient. The new pump design was originally intended for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning market but is suitable for other industrial uses.
