Take advantage of CPVC piping in your plant

Article Abstract:

Plastic pipes are becoming favored over metals across chemical process industries because of several benefits. In particular, chlorinated polyvinyl chloride piping has become established as a favorite due to its ability to handle higher temperature extremes and more aggressive chemicals. Longer life cycles, enhanced corrosion and frictional resistance and minimal power and pressure losses have made more companies use plastic pipes over their metal counterparts.

Quickly design subsonic safety relief systems

Article Abstract:

A one- or two-page computer spreadsheet can be used quickly and easily in designing low-pressure safety relief valve systems through adiabatic compressible-flow analysis. This procedure is fast and accurate and allows engineers several design options for minimizing capital and labor costs. The solution to the thermodynamic model with many parametric relationships can be made simpler by understanding the thermodynamic principles involved.
