The perils of polling

Article Abstract:

The introduction of new electrical ballot system that directly records votes only on electronic media in United States and many other countries has led to higher number of votes in 2000 in United Sates. In hurry to eliminate paper and avoid another Florida-style fiasco, some equipment makers and election officials are rushing to deploy systems that have known flaws or that are poorly tested or not tested at all.

The iPhone's missing buttons

Article Abstract:

The Apple iPhone seems to have a vacant row in the bottom part of its screen, bringing speculations that it would soon introduce new buttons that would allow for added features of the phone, which as early as now seem to favor Google and its own iTunes. This is said to be reminiscent of the time when Microsoft introduced its Internet Explorer browser, which made it overtook its rivals, including Netscape.

Sprint's broadband gamble: a new cellular service will sell high-speed data access instead of phones and phone calls

Article Abstract:

Sprint's Xohm plans to cover the whole United States with high-speed Internet access and will offer data rates between 2 and 4 megabits per second. The service is a winner because it combines the two high growth areas in telecommunications which are cellular and high-speed Internet access.
