Thinking ahead with forward pricing

Article Abstract:

The forward-pricing concept can be used to delineate and analyze conditions of delay and their corresponding impact on project completion. Delay is documented so that the contractor is compensated for any additional cost that may occur during the contract's effectivity. Proper negotiation of impact factors, documentation of changes in project specifications and the adoption of attainable and accurate schedule is crucial to the success of the forward-pricing process.

Managing local collaboration

Article Abstract:

Yost Grube Hall Architecture managing director Joachim C. Grube thinks that foreign project managers must forge partnerships with local governments and local firms in developing countries. This can be achieved by developing a mutually agreed-upon work plan that takes into consideration differences in culture, language, management style, living standards and income. The local political and economic environment should also be addressed.
