Ultrawide gap on ultrawideband

Article Abstract:

The growing rift, between the backers of separate ultrawideband (UWB) technologies, has led to a tie within the IEEE 802.15.3, a working group for the wireless personal-area-network (WPAN) charged with finalizing a standard for ultrawideband. Their main disagreement concern how much power they will consume and how much UWB devices might interfere with other radio users.

Amped up and ready to go: broadband over power lines gets a second wind but regulatory concerns linger

Article Abstract:

Broadband over power lines or the power line communications was one of those coming technologies that holds a great deal of promise in principle but has never quite noticed. Home plug originally was formed to standardize data networking over electrical wiring inside the premises but has since expanded its scope to include power line communications.
