Article Abstract:

Lead US delegate and chair of the national committee for the ISO 10011 revision process John Stratton maintains that the committee is well on the way to issuing a draft proposal by the end of its 1997 Rio de Janeiro meeting. The revision committee seeks to align ISO 9000 standards with the typical audit process, encourage the move towards a competency-based, auditor qualification process and encourage policies that will promote continuing professional development for auditors.
