Host plant, host plant chemistry and the polyembryonic parasitoid Copidosoma sosares: indirect effects in a tritrophic interaction

Article Abstract:

The effects of host plant and host plant chemistry in a tritrophic system consisting of three apiaceous plants, the parsnip webworm and the polyembryonic parasitic wasp Copidosoma sosares are examined. The tritrophic effects helps in understanding both the selective impact of plants on natural enemies as well as the potential for reciprocal selective impact of natural enemies on plant trait.

The significance of bottom-up effect for host plant specialization in Chrysomela leaf beetles

Article Abstract:

The bottom-up effects of host plants that might have shaped the evolution of host plant specialization in the populations of C. lapponica and the driving forces of host shifts within the C. interrupta are studied. The oviposition behavior and performance of two C.lapponica populations is compared.

The feeding behavior of the weevil, Exophthalmus jekelianus, with respect to the nutrients and allelochemicals in host plant leaves

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to relate nutritional and allelochemical factors in a host plant to the foraging behavior of herbivorous insects under field conditions. The feeding habits of the individual folivorous weevils were observed.
