Power politics

Article Abstract:

Energy development is inextricably linked to rural development because energy supply and demand influences the success of rural agriculture. Energy policies in developing countries rarely represent the needs of rural people, and the energy industry is not equipped to deal the complex issues involved. Appropriate technology is available, but an alteration of awareness must occur in both industrial and developing nations before adequate steps can be taken.
