Green victories

Article Abstract:

The EPA announced a new incinerator policy on May 18, 1993, but more work still needs to be done to shut down all hazardous waste incinerators. The EPA's new policy places an 18-month freeze on hazardous waste incinerators. A number of current incinerators, however, will not be affected by the new rule. The world's largest hazardous waste incinerator, operated by Waste Technology, Inc, in East Liverpool, OH, needs to be shut down.
