Biogas project advances in California

Article Abstract:

The California Prison Industry Authority will install three anaerobic digesters at the materials recovery facility in Folsom, CA. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory has approved the high solids anaerobic digester project which is meant for producing biogas. The biogas will then be purchased by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District for use in a fuel cell power plant.

Innovative biogas project: Energy savings and economic viability of smaller projects

Article Abstract:

Penford Food Ingredients of Richland, Washington use a new biogas utilization system, where it uses biogas produced at its water-waste pretreatment facility as fuel for a dual-fuel boiler. The plant's steam demand is met by automatic fuel switching from biogas to natural gas that helps maximum amount of digester gas to be utilized.

Gas utility taps into farm digester biogas

Scenic View Dairy Farm in Fennville, Michigan sells cleaned up biogas to Michigan Gas Utilities (MGU). The quality standards used for local natural gas wells are applied by MGU for the upgraded biogas provided by the dairy.
