Committee bill ready for floor action

Article Abstract:

Sen Mike Crapo is pressing for the enactment of legislation that would preempt the EPA's attempts to mandate new policies on Clean Water programs. Crapo and other supporters of the proposed bill believe that it would head off the EPA's efforts to mandate major changes proposed by the regulatory body in regulations covering total maximum daily loads. It would increase funding for state water programs while requiring the scientific review of water quality standards.
