Composting on Pennsylvania farms

Article Abstract:

Composting operations on the farms of Pennsylvania are increasing at a steady rate. Composting on these farms was started by the recycling of large amounts of cow manure produced on the farm. Farm composting can be useful in managing farm residuals, it can improve the soil, and excess compost can be sold to other sources. Beef and dairy farms, fruit and vegetables farms, Christmas tree farms and turkey and cut flower operations farms are using composting techniques.
