Evaluating benefits of Class A biosolids cake production - Part I

Article Abstract:

Composting and pelletization are well-tested methods to achieve Class A pathogen reduction standards. Many municipalities in America compost a portion or all of their biosolids and recover a portion of the production costs through retail and bulk sales of their products. Tacoma, Washington, develops a consumer friendly product with its biosolids to create a local market with home gardeners upgrading their lawns while Everett, Washington, uses it for fertilization of poplar trees at a city-owned plantation.
