Expanding utilization options: Trends in Class A biosolids production

Article Abstract:

Orange County's Environmental Management System for biosolids and the Long Range Biosolids Management Plan have both supported a move to make Class A biosolids cake more consumer friendly as an initial step towards developing local markets. The two municipalities used Class A biosolids either to retain existing agricultural markets or open new ones.

Building carbon credits with biosolids recycling

Article Abstract:

The study evaluated the net greenhouse gas contributions of landfilling biosolids in King County versus land application in forests and on agricultural soils. Further it adds carbon credits into the calculations, and then revisits overall change impacts of biosolids management options in King County.
