High value wood, compost markets: Processor creates multimarkets for the organics stream

Article Abstract:

Agromin/Cal Wood, an enterprising company in California provides municipalities and tree trimmers with processing services, and products to farmers, homeowners, landscapers and biomass plants. This company helps the haulers with contracting cities meet the goals of AB939 and allows them to know whether their waste is reentering the local economy as value added products.

Clopyralid levels decline, but controversy continues

Article Abstract:

The studies in Washington and Oregon reveals that restrictions on the use of the herbicide clopyralid have significantly reduced compost contamination levels in those states. However concerns are raised among composters and end users, both in Pacific Northwest and around the country.
