It's official! Compost tools on EPA list as storm water bumps

The US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Office of Water posted fact sheets for compost blankets, compost filter berms and compost socks for Construction Site Storm Water Runoff Control. Detailed description about the limitations, maintenance needs and effectiveness of the best management practices including fact sheets with research references, information about the tools they replace, and links to the tools, is provided.

Biodegradable plastics make market inroads

The market inroads being made in the biodegradable plastics industry relates to the increased diversion of organic feedstocks to composting. Compostable plastic products made from biodegradable polymers are gaining a foothold in the commercial and consumer marketplaces, after over a decade of their introduction.
