Multi-criteria fire protection - the technology of the future

Article Abstract:

Technologies on intelligent response to and detection of fire are advancing with the introduction of microprocessors. But the challenge today lies in preventing false alarms, with the reason for this being primarily economic as the cost of downtime and lost business increase. Details on the capability of multi-criteria detectors are discussed.

UKRO extrication challenge and conference

Article Abstract:

The UKRO Extrication challenge and Conference was held at the Cardiff Indoor Arena last July 12-14, 2007. Northern Ireland bested 46 different fire and rescue services in the extrication challenge. The breakdown of the results of the extrication challenge is presented.
