New emphasis on managing organic residuals

Article Abstract:

Vermicomposting plays a significant role in Cuba's sustainable agricultural practices. The country's agronomists have found that worm castings can yield the same benefits to crops as ten times the amount of cow manure. Feedstocks include livestock manure, plantain and coffee pulp residues, and sugar and rum distillery byproducts.
