Barricades on the roads

Article Abstract:

More developing countries are turning to the build-operate-and-transfer (BOT) method to attract private investment to major infrastructure projects. BOT projects require cultural sensitivity and diligence to be successful. Such projects face several obstacles, such as inadequate profit return, depreciation of currency, toll-rate principles, lack of regulatory framework, political conflict and lack of full operational rights. The solution of such problems rests mainly in the hands of government officials and policymakers.
