Smart contracting

Article Abstract:

Partnership between a municipality and a private composter should be structured using the service provider model and partnership model to protect the interests of both the parties. Contracts between municipalities and private sector service providers should identify and address the issues like governmental contracting, use of municipal land, feedstock contamination, and odor incidents and management.

Conversion facility chosen for palm desert, California

Article Abstract:

Waste Management (WM) of the Desert was awarded a contract to build and operate the Edom Hill Transfer Station in Palm Desert, California, which was modified to a request for qualification (RFQ) in the fourth quarter of the year 2002. WM of the Desert with support from a team of engineers and scientist was tasked with evaluating conversion technologies for this waste stream.

Single stream developments in U.S. cities

San Antonio, Texas on August 1st, 2004 has entered into a new processing agreement with Vista Fibers, Inc. for curbside recycling materials. About 6,000 homes in the Germantown and Chestnut hill section of Philadelphia tested a recycling approach design to earn them a hard cash.
