Source separation, composting a win for greenhouse gas reduction

Article Abstract:

Separating organic kitchen and garden waste (KGW) has been the policy of waste disposal in the Netherlands, which would result in immediate a reduction in the amount of waste to be landfilled but its incineration caused problems. Therefore, separating of KGW at the source and composting is an essential part of sustainable waste management and it is certainly more feasible and environment friendly than incineration or dumping.
