Exploring applications for MSW compost

Article Abstract:

Research projects in Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, Cornell University, University of Massachusetts, University of New Hampshire and State University of New York were initiated to determine the elements of compost production and utilization. Gathered data from these programs will be used for solid waste program planning and development. The organic components of the MSW compost will be assessed and its effects on soil and water properties examined. In addition, compost market options will be determined.
