A missing story

Article Abstract:

A look at print and the TV screen shows that Hispanics are all but absent from the newsrooms of the country. While Hispanics represent 11% of the population, they receive only 1% representation in the stories. The question of whether a newsroom can have credibility when it does not reflect the diversity of the community it serves.

Will Hispanics say 'Si' to English-language TV?

Article Abstract:

Si TV is scheduled to launch in June, 2000, as the first English-language cable network for U.S. Hispanics. The network was formed by Jeff Valdez in 1997 as a programming service. It is expected to reach 6 million homes throughout the country, will be supported by advertising and will run 24-hours.
