New urban opportunities

Franchisors are realizing that revenues and profit margins in suburban franchises are decreasing due to a growing competition, thus diverting their focus to urban areas. Franchisors are aiming at the inner cities because of less competition and underserved consumer population.

The small press turns into a big deal

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the success of local Hispanic press publications are discussed. It is emphasized that despite a national decrease in newspaper sales, the Hispanic press businesses have been thriving. Demographic implications of the success of Hispanic press are examined.
