More Spanish ads hitting mainstream TV

Article Abstract:

Spanish-language ads are becoming more popular on general market television. Ads which previously appeared on Spanish-language only television stations such as Univision and Telemundo are being shown on mainstream television stations. Chevron's recent animated spot featuring a car that wants to sing like a mariachi band aired in the Southern California area which has a population that is one-third Hispanic.

More and more employers are using the Internet for employment purposes. Job seeking are routinely applying for jobs on the Internet. Executive search firms and human resource professionals are also using cyberspace as a tool to find and connect job candidates. The future of executive search firms is being questioned in view of the popularity of the employment Web sites.

Record setting: music industry veteran forms a label for Latin music performers who sing in English

Bill Martin, a veteran of the music industry, has founded Demand Recordings, a label for Hispanics who sing in English. Martin, born in Ecuador, says he is close to signing a $5 million investment by a major label which he refuses to name.
