Springboard to new growth: Diverse Staffing Solutions and American Honda team up to diversify the automaker's image

Article Abstract:

California-based Diverse Staffing Solutions (DSS) is one of the nation's fastest growing Hispanic-owned companies, whose revenues accelerated from zero to $48.6 million between 2000 and 2005. In late 2005, DSS entered into a three-year contract with American Honda Motor Co., worth an estimated $18 million, boosting the company to new realms of growth, by serving corporate needs for highly trained workers at all levels, including key management positions, high-tech job, and administrative support, with a personnel pool of 3,000.

Return of the Mexican Cinema

The 14-screen, $21 million Maya Cinema, which opened in July 2005, in Salinas, California, is the brain-child of Mr. Esparza, whose mission was to bring the movie-going experience back to Hispanics. Maya Cinemas, buoyed by its success in Salinas is setting its sights on Bakersfield, California, Santa Fe and Albuquerque in New Mexico, Chicago, Dallas and the Bronx in New York.
