Ruben Hinojosa, Silvestre Reyes, and Loretta Sanchez are three new members of the CHC who are somewhat conservative and concerned with business. Xavier Becerra, the new CHC chairman, may be a little too friendly with opponents of Hispanic causes, however.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus chairman Xavier Becerra stressed that Hispanic owned businesses would be properly represented in US trade missions. Becerra made the claim after critics raised questions on his competency to lead the organization.
